Problems with Strangers

                                              
          I instantly hate the violet-haired girl walking up to me alongside my brother. With her large round eyes periodically flitting to the side to look at him, drawing the faintest hint of a blush to her cheeks, it's obvious to me that she is completely flustered by Freddy. And I hate it. He’s my brother; whoever she is, she simply has no right to be looking at him in that way.

Redemption - One

Do you feel the shadows in your eyes?

My mind was clear, and every part of me felt nothing but calm. I could feel myself slipping deeper and deeper into my meditation. With each breath inhaled through my nose, the closer I got to that state of pure calmness. And with each exhalation that went past my lips, I felt I was almost to that point of calmness that I sought.
           Almost.

First Steps

          It’s so strange, how different this city is from our hometown, when the two are so closely related. Back home, in Auberdine, when I stand in the square and look up, I’m greeted by the blue open sky above me. The air is cool and crisp and fresh, scented with the sweet earthy smell of the forest and the salt of the sea that happily claps against the shore. Here, as I tilt my head upward, the only thing I see is a thick canopy of trees, basked in the indigo glow of the lights that dot the walkways, the rays of the mid-day sun only able to penetrate through in scattered spots amongst the leaves. I frown, averting my gaze from above and glancing to my brother at my side. He too looks around, wonder in his eyes and the hint of a smile on his lips.
          Though we are both 12 years old, this is our first time in Darnassus, and now it’s going to be our home for the foreseeable future.

And so it begins..

Alright, here I am. My first post.

Because Jes keeps bugging me to do it :) And because really, I have to. Once this goes up, our blog can officially go live, and we can start posting our stories for the world to see.

Of course that also means I have to get off my ass and write more.

Spoiler, Jes is beating me. She has finished her first chapter and I am no where near done. Fuck. I hope we don't have deadlines for these.

Although it wouldn't hurt.

So, here I will post the rewrite of my story "Redemption." Currently the first version is 15 chapters long for Segment One, and I got to chapter 5 for Segment Two. Why am I rewriting it? Well, I wrote the original story probably 7-8 years ago, and things have changed. And I am trying First Person Present Tense for the first time. I get it wrong quite a bit. But I'm trying, that's what counts right?

My story starts with Mintia's past. Not as early as Jes' story starts. It starts when she's 22, and will follow her meeting up with past and current guildmates. I also have some short stories that I will post that follow the time line, mostly boss kill stories from when we kill bosses in different raids.

I hope to be able to post parts of my story consistently, so please check back and enjoy! :)

I love to write, but this is the first time I've ever written as a specific character set in a universe I didn't create and then shared it with others. Marnie is the lore-whore, not me, which means I've been asking her some pretty stupid questions about the events that go on in Azeroth. *fret fret*

Ala is a very important character to me. She started out as a Hunter (*shudders*), but after 12 long and agonizing levels, I recreated her as the Druid she is today. She is my literal alter ego. :3 Nearly everyone in Ala's story were real characters that I've played with at one point or another, and just like Marnie, the history is based on my actual gameplay in WoW (that's right, you guessed it - we are super nerds). Ala's story, entitled "Retribution", will be written as individual short stories that can be read together as a whole, or as separate stand-alone drabbles.

We are working hard on these stories to get them finished and posted as soon as possible, so be sure to keep checking back for updates!
